2. Happy Time : )
3. Flopsy Bunny :)
4. Bunny Knitting Bench Monday
It’s the first Tuesday of the month, so Mitsy, from ArtMind gives the Flickr Favories mosaic a theme. This time the collage is about what makes us happy.
My 2 bunnies make me happy. And they are on my mind today. If you haven't met Frank and Barry yet, click here.
Last Sunday Frank had me worried. He wouldn't eat. And the only sign a bunny gives when he is not feeling well is that he stops eating. Not a very smart thing because if a bunny does not eat for 24 hours, he dies. A bunny is no more than a stomach and bowels in a cute package. And that system has to work non stop. So basically the challenge for a bunny is to eat and poop all the time. That is so exhausting that they also sleep quite a lot ;-)
But, Frank would not eat. I made him eat some green during the day, but that was is. And where he normally jumps around like that cute white bunny in the mosaic, he was sitting still in a corner all day. So, when I woke up on Monday morning (after a night with hardly any sleep of course) I ran downstairs, outside, relieved that he was still alive. But when I opened his gate, he came out and went straight to sitting in that corner again. This time my alarm bells rang loud and I phoned the vet.
At the vet she saw that there was a little hook on one of his teeth. Apparently the teeth of a bunny grow their whole life. And sometimes they won't wear out quite good and eating becomes painful. But, in order to help him she would have to keep him for the day and give him a slight dose of narcosis. They would also take an X-ray to make sure his stomach and bowels were not lying still.
At the end of the day they did not have very good news. They showed me the X-ray and not his stomach or tooth was the problem, but his back bones. I am not sure how to explain in English terms correctly, but underneath his back bones there is some extra bone growing that probably causes him quite some pain. The vet thinks that was the reason for not eating and stretching a lot. So, I got pain medication for the little guy. And now I am fighting with him 3 times a day to give him that medication. I hope he will soon learn that this is something that helps him so the struggle will be over and the pain will go away. Cute little old Frank. I hope he will be bouncing around again feeling happy soon!

What an adorable mosaic!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI hope your little Frank will be better soon :)
Bunnies are really cute, indeed, fluffy and lovable.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI am sure a little love, together with the pills, will make Frank feel a lot better.
Awsome! Our sister just had some trouble with her 9 year old Bunny gentleman. We're all happy that he is healthy again.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat's what bunnies do: they make you happy, they really do! :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDo you know the daily bunny? http://dailybunny.org/ :)
