Essence

I joined a class in drawing mandala's on black paper. I love following a mandala course myself. Without that I hardly make time to draw anymore. The course is on Sunday morning. The funny thing is that normally my Sunday mornings are all about staying in and in my PJ as long as possible. Relaxing time. Now I had to drive to Amsterdam to be there at 10 am.

I live in a town that has quite some churches. And contrary to most churches in Holland, these tend to fill up quite nice in Sunday mornings. I now know, because I was driving by churches to go to Amsterdam and lines of dressed up men and women were walking with bibles in their hand. I haven't gone to church in many many years. I have been allergic to the word God for most of the past 10 years. I grew over that allergy, but church is not my cup of tea. Nevertheless I felt part of something while I was driving by these people. Nobody else seemed to be in the streets but the people visiting their house of God.

I arrived in Amsterdam all quiet and looking forward to starting class. And what was class all about? Inner light. Creation. We even read Genesis Chapter 1.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

When we were asked to draw the vision we had of our inner light, I drew the mandala I named 'Bron', which is Dutch for Source. It starts small, but can spread as wide as you want it to spread.

At home, while listening to the above beautiful music, I finished the second mandala which I see as the follow up on the Source. I named it 'Essentie', which is Dutch for Essence. As I believe we do not only come from the source (children of God) but also return there when we die here on earth. In essence we are all the same. We are all sparkles of light coming from the source, which in the bible is called God. In essence we are all light. I wish for everyone to find their own inner light.

  3. Mooi mooi mooi!
