Amazing how a younger sister can suddenly turn 30 when I am still 29..I offered to make her a new bag for her birthday. We went to the market and she picked the pink fabric. Since fall is coming up, I decided to use her fabric for the inside and use linen for the outside to make it fit the season a bit more. My sister has 2 little kids, so she needs quite some room in her bag. Therefore I choose the Pea Pod Linen purse by Ottobre, but made it into a bag. She always carries her bags like a messenger bag. Actually, she always has messenger bags. But, turning 30 I wanted to make a bag a little more like a ladies purse. So I made the strap longer, but on 1 side only so her bag is still easy accessible. And as i know her fear of somebody grabbing into her bag, I made a Velcro clip over the zipper.
I gave it to her yesterday and I am happy she (and he 3yo girl) liked it very much. Happy Birthday sis! Wonder how that feels, turning 30. ;-)
