Soccer and the Netherlands go hand in hand. Although our flag is red white and blue, our national color is orange, because our Royal family are the House of Orange. Back in the old days, people would decorate their house and their street like in the picture above. 
I don't like decorating my house or street. Just for the simple fact that it is a lot of work and effort and I know myself. I will not have the energy to take the decorations down. Same reason I do not have a Christmas tree at Christmas. Matter of fact, I took my fabric easter eggs out of the small decoration tree I have only last week. 
I went through my fabric stash earlier this week and I looked up all my orange fabrics. Then I made two small banners that I put up in the house. This last picture is our kitchen window.See the reflection? That is across the street. I am afraid my first picture is not really in the past. It is what I see when I look out of my kitchen window. My neighbours went crazy in putting up flags. Let's hope it all helps our soccer team to win their first world cup 2010 match against Denmark tomorrow. Cheer with me: Hup Holland Hup!
